(the law of) diminishing returns
phrase of diminishing
Noun: law of diminishing returns
-
1.used to refer to a point at which the level of profits or benefits gained is less than the amount of money or energy invested.Hey FoodwalasYou must be thinking if I have taken leave of my senses…but humour me for a few minutes
I visited Counter burger at the Quay on Sunday with Mrs Foodwala, the 2 diva
Foodwalas and Mokee Foodwala, the counter boasts a custom built burger with hundreds of different combination.
Hence the Law of Diminishing returns, at what point does the adding of toppings to your burger stop adding to the enjoyment of the taste of the burger.I opted for the double beef burger with cheddar, onions, green chillies on a full grain bun accompanied with sweet potato fries. The sweet potato fries were crispy and cooked to perfection, however the beef patty bordered on the bland and dry.My fellow Foodwalas pointed out that the fried chicken in their burger was greasy, possibly from the oil in which the breaded chicken fillet was cooked being cold, as fries cook at a different temperature than chicken. The standout item for me was the loaded potato tots, they were cooked until golden and soft without getting mushy and loaded with cheese and halal Turkey Bacon. The service was on point, even if they barman kept bringing us the milkshake which the table next to us ordered.Overall I prefer my burger cooked on a charcoal robata grill rather than the soleless gas version. In my humble opinion, Burgerfuel, 5 Guys and dare I say it Burger King were all better than Counter Burger.Food – 5 out of 10
